MUTUAL SUPPORT NETWORK VALENCIA

This network is designed for rural projects in the Comunitat to support each other. The idea is simple: within the group, there are people with spaces who need help and can offer accommodation for one or several days in exchange for completing beneficial tasks for the project.
We want to invite people with all kinds of perspectives on rural life: from those who live in the city and are looking for a space to start a permaculture project, to those who want to share knowledge and meet people and other projects, to those who already have a space and need help. There will also be those who simply want to learn, those who are here to observe and see how everything works before deciding to participate, those who live in the city and want to learn about specific topics related to rural life... everyone is welcome. Each person is on their own journey, and every individual is important and valued.
So don’t be afraid to introduce yourself! Together we are stronger!
The group is organized by provinces. It is best if each person introduces themselves in their provincial chat, so it will be easier for all of us to create a network by proximity. Provincial meetups can be organized and discussed in their respective chats. For those passing through or from outside the community, as well as other topics related to mutual help, there is the Common Camp. Off-topic discussions will be held in the TABERNA room (Free Talk).
We want to emphasize that we have just started, and how we organize the meetups and the group’s functioning is something that is happening naturally, but we want everyone to have a voice so we can all find ways to improve and refine the functioning to make it fair and efficient for everyone.
As an association, we want to encourage people to create networks based on bonds and proximity and propose meetups freely. This means you can announce what you need and what you offer, and through the chat, arrange to meet and help each other for as long as you wish. Help that arises through the chat and organized meetups can coexist perfectly, and we hope that many bonds and small proximity networks will emerge from this initiative, where we can all help each other, creating connections and friendships.
It is important to note that to participate as a host who offers to receive people from the network, your space and the organization of your project should be consistent with what has been said here previously. The evolution of your project is NOT of great importance, as this initiative is designed to help us, and many of us are starting from scratch.
If your accommodation offer is in a tent, that’s fine; if it’s in a house under renovation, that’s also fine. Everything is acceptable as long as everything is clearly specified, including the capacity for feeding and housing people. The key point is to be very clear about the conditions and explain everything thoroughly to avoid misunderstandings.
The idea is that the space offers food, accommodation, and a pleasant experience in exchange for the work done by people participating in the meetup. Therefore, it’s also important that there is an organized task for people to help with and feel useful. If you think your space is not yet ready to receive people, for any reason, or you are unsure about what tasks or work you need help with, we ask that you not present it yet. We want it to be a positive and enriching experience for everyone, and for that, preparation and awareness of what it means to host a group of people is crucial.
Remember, you choose the number of people who will attend based on what you think would be harmonious for your space. You should specify the maximum capacity and type of sleeping arrangements, the maximum number of days people can stay, the number and type of tasks you want to be done, and the duration of workdays. Include meals, in case anyone wants to bring their own food. If vegan and vegetarian options are available (hopefully 😊), and generally, all the necessary information so that the network knows what to expect and how to organize. This way, people can organize in advance and decide if they want to attend once they know a bit about what the meetup will involve.
It’s also important to think about some activities we can do once at your space, such as visiting a nice place nearby, organizing a recreational activity, a small event, concert, or whatever you can offer so that it’s not all work, and we can have a great time together 😊
